About Quest Vineyard Church
Quest Vineyard Church is a growing Vineyard church located on the northeast side of Columbus, Ohio. Our mission is to help people become followers of Jesus by cultivating relationships with God, one another, and our community. We are committed to authentic worship, Kingdom ministry, biblical teaching, and creating space for the Holy Spirit to transform lives.
We are seeking a part-time Worship Pastor who is passionate about leading people into the presence of God while developing healthy teams and future leaders. This person will provide spiritual, musical, and organizational leadership for our worship ministry and help cultivate a culture of worship that is both excellent and Spirit-led.
Position Summary
The Worship Pastor is responsible for leading the worship ministry of Quest Vineyard Church by cultivating authentic, Spirit-led worship experiences, developing musicians and vocalists, building healthy volunteer teams, and partnering with the Senior Pastor to support the overall vision and mission of the church.
The ideal candidate is a shepherd first, a worship leader second, and a musician third—someone who loves developing people as much as leading music.
Primary Responsibilities
Worship Leadership
- Lead worship during Sunday morning services and other special services throughout the year.
- Prayerfully prepare worship sets that support the preaching theme and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
- Create worship environments that encourage congregational participation rather than performance.
- Model a lifestyle of worship, humility, and spiritual maturity.
Team Development
- Recruit, train, encourage, and disciple worship team members.
- Develop musicians, vocalists, and emerging worship leaders.
- Foster a healthy, enjoyable, and spiritually vibrant team culture.
- Schedule teams and organize rehearsals using Planning Center.
Ministry Leadership
- Partner with the Senior Pastor in planning worship gatherings.
- Participate in staff meetings and church-wide ministry planning.
- Provide pastoral care and encouragement for worship volunteers.
- Build systems that promote consistency, communication, and excellence.
Production Oversight (Preferred)
Depending on gifting and experience, the Worship Pastor may also:
- Oversee sound, lighting, and video ministry teams.
- Recruit and develop technical volunteers.
- Help improve audio and online worship quality.
- Assist in evaluating and recommending future equipment needs.
Qualifications
Required
- A growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Agreement with the theology, values, and ministry philosophy of the Vineyard movement and Quest Vineyard Church.
- Demonstrated spiritual maturity and Christian character.
- Experience leading congregational worship.
- Strong vocal and instrumental proficiency (guitar or keyboard preferred).
- Ability to lead volunteer teams with humility, encouragement, and clarity.
- A heart for developing people, not simply leading services.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable using or learning Planning Center Online.
Preferred
- Experience overseeing worship production (audio, lighting, and video).
- Ability to coach and develop technical volunteers.
- Familiarity with digital audio systems and worship technology.
- Experience arranging music and building worship teams.
- Multi-instrumental ability.
